That would be pretty nice, but I doubt it'd happen. The entertainment team is focusing pretty hard on Groove Music (previously Xbox Music) and that is a direct Spotify competitor. I think if they can introduce better features and better integration to Groove Music, they can steal some of Spotify's market share. Not much reason for buying Spotify in that event.

But that would definitely be something.

Microsoft does a GREAT many things right but music has never really been one of them. Groove may completely have me doing a 360 on my opinion (I have yet to use it.) but I think this might be one problem that Microsoft could just solve with an acquisition to be honest.

I think so too. I really loved the Zune system and it was so ahead of its time, but they discontinued it. I feel like if MS had put time and money into improving Zune (both hardware and software) and the Zune Pass model, it could be one of the top competing services today. (Hey, I still use my Zune HD!) Instead, they phased it out and made the functional yet feature-lacking Xbox Music, that basically no one uses because Spotify has taken over the industry.

Here's to hoping MS makes some better decisions on the entertainment side of things soon.
