Should parents pay more to guarantee 2-year-old can sit next to them on flight?

I see no problem. Let the kids sit with other passengers, and let them complain to the airline. They will be more convincing. Plus, in the meantime, you get a peaceful trip.
This is one for the hall of fame of stupid corporate policies.
worst case scenario they will be paying out insane legal fees to defend against being sued for something like assisting the molestation or abduction of a child.
Airlines have earned and deserve all of the fallout they will receive from this asinine policy.
