People do stupid stuff for stupid reasons. I don't get why rappers are called artists since it takes zero talent to recite poetry and a lot of talent to actually sing.

This theory covers the facts, without requiring we pretend rappers are only performers not creators, that rap isn't a creative art, that talent is the same as skill, or that cringing always says more about who you're cringing at than it does you.

I think it depends on the rapper. For example, respect to eminem for being able to do both, and both really damn well, however for every eminem out there, there are 1000 "artists" that are absolutely terrible. I guess this pretty much applies to everything.

Well if a singer starts rapping,I stop the video since I don't want to hear poetry ...But yeah,there are lots of wannabees,that's for sure.
