Ubuntu Linux 15.10 'Wily Werewolf' Alpha 1 now available
Ubuntu is one of the most popular Linux distributions -- arguably the most popular -- which is very much deserved. Canonical has taken the complicated and intimidating world of Linux and transformed it into an inviting operating system for the masses. While not as user-friendly as Windows or OS X, Ubuntu is certainly easier to use than Fedora or the dreaded Arch.

I think the hardest part about Ubuntu is that Gnome isn't much like Windows. Kubuntu's KDE desktop is much closer and makes for an easier transition.
Well, usually theKubuntu variant comes out right along with the main distro, so getting Ubuntu with KDE is certainly possible.
I'll be interested to see how the general population handles life with systemd. At work, I've put a moratorium on anything past 14.04 LTS. I dislike the idea of systemd at a fundamental level. Not a fan of upstart, either, but at least it's pretty easy to troubleshoot.
Honestly, I think systemd is going to be unavoidable. Debian, Ubuntu, CentOS, RedHat, Fedora, ... have all switched, so unless you want to use something like Gentoo you will be forced to switch when 14.04 is end of life, right?
True, but that's a half a decade into the future. Plenty of time for the Linux community to work out all of the bugs, or to move onto the "next best thing".
