I've never gotten that. Whenever reddit's community gets up in arms about something the leadership is doing they pass out gold like it's going out of style. I'm not sure they understand what gold does.
It's proreddit mod, procensorship people most likely. Y'know the times that flail there arms in the air and say "I'm triggered" who give out the gold for jokes. Because giving random people internet money they don't want is...Hilarious?
