My girlfriend raised an interesting observation, as she is a smoker who is looking to quit shortly. Everyone keeps pointing her towards vaping, which I agree won't help the cause. But she feels they're worse than cigarettes simply because when people vape, they take in a LOT more smoke/vapors per inhale than a cigarette. And because it's not a cigarette, people assume it's safer, so they do it a lot more often.

I'm not a smoker, nor vaper (vapor?), so I have little knowledge. I just know vaping doesn't give me headaches just to be around, so I don't mind it as much.

Vaping worked for me. I used to smoke on occasion (socially), but wanted to quit as I saw myself doing it more often and with more. I ordered a vaping set and it really worked for me. I vaped for about 8 months all together and then quit that cold turkey and never looked back. What vaping did was made the cigarette taste really gross and overwhelming, and it worked.

They don't take in any smoke. It's just warm vapor, nothing gets burned in an atomizer.

Also, comparing just total amounts of substances is misleading — the important thing is which substances you inhale. And while PG, VG and the flavors used for vaping are even used in food, the substances in tobacco smoke are dangerous in very small amounts.
