History is racially divisive. It's a pretty stupid world if every whim of parents are followed with regards to education. "Yeah, little Johnny doesn't need to know about female anatomy, he's not a woman." "Little Susie doesn't need to know about black history, as she's not black." That's how these arguments sound to me.
The racial divide is still apparent in today's society, and should be part of the curriculum when teaching about history, so that we can learn from our mistakes of the past. Banning a video, because it makes people feel uncomfortable is a Bad Idea when it comes to teaching. Don't stick your head in the sand.
Yes, just like disease will cease to exist once vaccinations stop. Or how, if you believe hard enough, you will win that astronomically unlikely lottery jackpot. Because all we have to fear is perceiving the threat, right? If you ignore danger, it goes away harmlessly on its own, right?
We can't understand history or ourselves if we keep white washing the past. Is teaching about WWII perpetuating Nazism? There would be no uproar if the parents weren't carrying a guilt load themselves.
