Well we had our chance to outlaw big snakes coming in and being sold as "pets" years ago. The breeders and pet stores raised such a stink,the idea was dropped. Now when these things get too big to manage,they get released into the wilds of America and with global warming,they are going to do great.

The snake had likely escaped from a house close by.

Since they move so slow,my guess is it was deliberately released.
