Kind of disingenuous to say that that's the only reason anyone ever becomes a cop isn't it? It'd be like saying people only ever take retail jobs so they can steal merchandise or go into finances to commit fraud.
Sorry, it was your second sentence that was bugging me, but I see your qualifier in the first one now. Honestly, even saying "usually" is a bit of an overstep I think. My experience with police is very mixed, but I think they generally get into it for good reasons.
