True, but censoring won't stop them from spreading hatred. Not with the number of forums available to do that nowadays. The only cure against this is to confront it wherever it appears, show the absurdity of the arguments, and expose it for what it is. Otherwise more people will start thinking the same way thinking that they're going against "the mainstream" who is trying to silence their voice.
Not enough. Not on it’s own. Does you no good to bring a copy of the Oxford Union Society debating rules to a slumber party for feral eight-year-old boys. For that matter, at holiday dinners, do you ever really make a point of getting Uncle Walter started? By that token, do you suppose the Reddit board would be acting if neo-Nazi /r/The_Donald trolls weren’t costing Reddit eyeballs?
Sometimes it takes more than letting people see for themselves what trolls really are. Sometimes you change the subject. Sometimes you go to the beach. Sometimes you compose music. Sometimes you boycott and divest.
But no, one need not suffer fools like that gladly on end, as many former Reddit users’ve learned. And no, it’s not censorship to ignore the endless ravings of diseased minds.
