That is 100% how I felt when I first stumbled upon Alan Watts' talks. But they are wonderful once you slow down your mind and let the meaning he is transcribing really just sit in the room with you. It's all about the slow osmosis with this one, but so incredibly accurate. I've read books on the subject that entirely missed the point yet this talk does what few writers could.

Another great book, which I've suggested many times is What The Buddha Taught by by Walpola Rahula

I cannot recommend this enough for exactly the same reason. The purpose and the spirit of these teachings is maintained in simple and down to Earth explanations. Great for both the budding Buddhist just thinking of walking the path and the Zen Master who's been on it for years.
