I went to the Winchester house a few years back. It was pretty interesting to walk through all the hallways, look at the stairs and doorways that let into walls. The front part of the house was relatively normal, but you can see when she started getting a little loopy and having the builders put in windows in odd places, stairs up walls, and closet doors that opened to the outside.

I remember looking out the window into a tiny 'courtyard' that was open to the sky. There was really no room to stand in it, just a place you could see the sky above and the other outside walls. I think that creeped me out the most since I imagined getting stuck in the courtyard with no way back out.

The grounds are really nice. Lots of places to sit and water fountains. 10/10 would go again and gawk at it.
