Well, it can also clip whole articles, sort of like Instapaper or Readability. There's an extension for Chrome / Firefox that renders any page in "Article View," and then you can clip it to your Evernote count in case the website disappears pretty later. It's pretty handy.
It seems to me like evernote is something that no one would ever need. Why not just take your notes on the apple/android built in notes thing?
