Subway Shuts Hundreds of U.S. Stores
Subway Restaurants closed hundreds of domestic locations last year, marking the biggest retrenchment in the history of a chain that spent decades saturating America with restaurants. The company lost 359 U.S. locations in 2016, the first time that Subway had a net reduction. The store count dropped 1.3 percent to 26,744 from 27,103 in 2015, but Subway remains the nation’s most ubiquitous eatery. (McDonald’s Corp. is No. 1 by sales.)

I wonder if it has anything to do with the recent discovery that their chicken is made up of about 50% soy.
You know, you just might be onto something! I have a friend with a soy allergy. One bite could have sent her to the er. I do wonder how many people with allergies to soy they made sick.
I'm sure there were plenty of cases. Right now though, the news is in... Subway is suing!
Yeah,they seem to have kept that bit hush hush. I never had an interest in their food anyway.
A lot like department stores, in this day there is no real need for there to be a store on every corner, let alone at higher prices.
I agree. And then there are grocery stores..It astounds me that the small town I live in has so many with a Publex just opening up last month to add to the number.
