I can definitely see Blomkamp pulling it off, although his style might be a bit too "new age" for the older crowd... I haven't had a chance to delve too much into Euros Lyn's work as from what it seems he spent most of his career directing for TV, however I might just jump into some of the Dr. Who episodes and get caught up, might turn it into a weekend thing sometime soon. What makes you think Euros Lyn is a good fit for such a large budget reboot? The reason I ask is that unlike with TV shows where there is ample time for character building, these 2.5 hour features require a completely different approach...

Well in the major episodes that he directed, he had the benefit of an already developed Dr. Who and companion, but he was able to develop the character who was the focus of each episode enough in one hour. It's been a while since I've seen either episode, but I think he won a Hugo for one of the episodes.
