New rover may produce rocket fuel on Mars
A rover NASA plans to send to Mars in 2021 will attempt to produce oxygen, a major component of rocket fuel, on the Martian surface. Titled MOXIE, the vehicle will contain seven instruments that will take carbon dioxide from Mars’ thin atmosphere and convert it to oxygen.

Could it be, a mini terraforming machine?
You would need about hundred million of these machines working non-stop for 10,000 yrs to even make a slight difference
Pretty sweet, wonder if this is the type of tech they use on the ISS to avoid having to lug around extremely expensive to transport oxygen canisters. If the ISS is not yet using this type of technology to recycle the air we should definitely start with that before sending a 1.9 billion dollar machine out into butt fuck nowhere to experiment with. Maybe I havent read up on it, but even 10 years ago it wasnt yet possible.
