Now the question becomes, where do we draw the line? What if there was a wrong place wrong time scenario where the individual this happened to was innocent?

I'm not sure if I could draw a line. not without dedicating lots of time looking into different scenarios. Do I think the police in this situation overstepped their authority? probably, I'm not versed in the law. Do I think they did the right thing? Probably not, but they did get what they needed without physically injuring the drug dealer. Would I react differently if police responded this way to a 17 year old kid who got in a fight at a mall? definitely! That tells me that there is a line to be drawn. I don't condone the police actions in this scenario, but I don't abhor them either.

Isn't that essentially the problem with police today, they think they can do whatever they want and get away with it?
