Yesterday was my first 'bad day' on Snapzu...

Anybody else have this experience? I'm posting this here so that I can reach out to a smaller group of tribe owners that way I can keep the judgement and hate posts to a minimum. I feel like yesterday I was battling down votes on my snaps and rowdy commenters all through out the day. I usually pride myself on posting quality content in my snaps and making sure I take the time to articulate my opinion well and in a respectful and civil manner in discussions. Despite this I felt, for the first time in a long time, that Reddit's dark ugly hand reached out and made it's first grab on Snapzu yesterday. By the end of the day it was pretty apparent. Many level 4's and 5's starting to disturb the delicate balance that keeps our website in civil, working order. I just wanted to ask you all if any of you have had a similar experience to mine yesterday, and if so, what we can do about it?

A Quick Thank You to Members of /t/3DS

I just wanted to take a moment here and thank each and every 200-something of you for joining the 3DS tribe. When I started this tribe less than two weeks ago I started it completely and absolutely from scratch. I'm so proud of what it's become! There are a huge number of you guys out there and the tribe grows every single day. I can't take the credit as the 3DS is an amazing console and inherently brings people like fans of the system together, however I am so happy to have all of you in my company.

I'd love to interact with all of you on a more personal level! I'd like to encourage everyone to share not just news articles but discussions, reviews, and anything else they'd like the rest of the community to have access to! Let's see some screenshots! How about your personal review of a title! The only rules are to be kind to your fellow posters so let's see what you've got. I look forward to hearing from everybody.

Again thank you everybody so much. I'm so happy to be able to call myself the Chief of the 3DS tribe and I'm so happy to be a part of the Snapzu community. Can't wait to chat with you all. I hope everyone has a great Monday. See you around the site!

Paywall Considered a Valid Downvote Reason

I recently had a poor experience I'd like to share. I posted a snap to an article by Newsweek here and to my dismay I had received a down vote. This is unusual obviously so I took a peek at the comments to find one of the readers was stuck behind a paywall that Newsweek has baked into their site.

This isn't a normal Paywall. I am not a subscriber to Newsweek and I didn't post a link to an article expecting readers to be prompted to cough up their hard earned money to read my linked article. What's frustrating is Newsweek has it set up to block out readers after they have read more than four articles on their site less they pay for more. There's no warning for this.

As a content aggregator and generally happy Snapzu user this concerns me because I have no indication as to who has read how many articles from Newsweek or another news source like it. To me it is just a normal article with zero visibility as to restrictions presented by such a site at the time of posting. Now the content aggregator is at risk of a damaged reputation because of invisible paywalls deep in the coding tracked by cookies or whatever else may be going on.

In my particular case a quick conversation with the user who had the complaint resolved the issue as I hosted the text off site with a generic text host. This may not be the case every time as many users may not be willing to have that conversation or even reverse their decision. I was lucky this time. I pride myself on posting quality and easily accessible content. I don't much enjoy having my reputation on Snapzu degraded or tarnished because of the unseen choices of a content provider. I don't have a specific suggestion for Snapzu but I just wanted to share my experience with you all so that you are aware this is a thing and can happen to you. Thanks for taking the time to read.
