One party has consistently proposed budgets that would eliminate the deficit and pay down the debt in ten years while preserving public assistance programs and not increasing tax burdens on the poor or middle class. The other party's grand plan requires fifty years to do the same thing except also eliminating public programs and increasing burdens on everyone but the rich.
