Nobel Prize-winning scientist Stephen Hawking dies at 76
Nobel Prize-winning physicist Stephen Hawking died early Wednesday morning, a family spokesman told ABC News. He was 76. Hawking, who wrote several influential books including "A Brief History of Time," was diagnosed with motor neurone disease in 1962.

I dreaded this day and just recently thought about how long we will still have Mr. Hawking. RIP.
Oh noooooo...Me too. This is so very sad. I really enjoyed his lectures over the years.
He was 76? I thought maybe 50-60.
For a man not expected to make it out of his 20's I think he did pretty damn good.

He made everyone understand complex physics. I loved that about him. He was brilliant but used his gifts to better humans. He outlived ALS, he didn’t let it get him. He will be missed. It is unfortunate that his predictions for humankind will likely come true.
