How I lost my $50,000 Twitter username
I had a rare Twitter username, @N. Yep, just one letter. I’ve been offered as much as $50,000 for it. People have tried to steal it. Password reset instructions are a regular sight in my email inbox. As of today, I no longer control @N. I was extorted into giving it up.

He should just let twitter know what happened. I'm sure they can verify the story and give back the account.

Twitter didn't say anything on the matter yet but it looks like he will eventually get @N back. Here's the followup story -> http://techcrunch.co...ven-n-his-name-back/ Oh and by the way, for now @N doesn't exist at all.
Yeah, he will probably get his account back. Might take a while but at the end hes got all the proof of extortion he needs.
I still don't understand why he was holding onto an account that he rarely used if he was offered $50,000 for it. Even if he was waiting for it to increase in value, you can't hold onto it forever because at some point it could be worth less. And now he's gotten nothing from it except a sense of insecurity.
