I totally agree! I think it's becoming the better medium, especially when it comes to adaptations.
Well the fact that the characters can mean so much more to us is a big sell for me. I hate movies that last 2 hours, and I barely know the characters, their deaths for example mean so much more on a good show then a good movie.
