That sucks! I have fond memories of winamp. Think I first used it in 1997 :(
I remember using it 2002 - 2003. Then again, I never really got into downloading music until reasonably priced legal options like Spotify came up.
Same approx 1998. I remember when they released that horrible multimedia winamp in like 2001 that no one wanted. After a few days they rolled back the changes and went back to a simple mp3 player.
