I don't think these felony charges will really hold up in the long run, so it should be fine. Discipline the student with detentions or other such similar reprimands, but more importantly help him understand that in today's world; letters and numbers are the keys of today's world. And that breaking into someone's computer, no matter how seemingly harmless the intent, is grounds for severe consequences if he were an adult.

The sheriff's statement is a bit of a bait considering it's one sentence taken out of a potentially longer interview, so I'll leave it at that.

You should give it a spin. I believe the developer previously provided a free beta of the game on his website, though I'm not sure if he's taken it down since.

I think this is a very important progression: Lower level languages like C++ and C can be a significant turn-off for many newcomers, where as more easily accessible languages such as Python, Ruby, and Javascript allow people to quickly appreciate what they can do with coding.

I actually played Paper's Please, and it was a fun, if not mechanically simple, game. And when I say fun, I mean as fun as stamping various forms of documentation can be. But when I was asked by a man to stamp his wife's expired passport, I was engaged a moral quandary: Do I allow this man's wife to pass the border so that they can be together, or do I receive a demerit, and possible loss of income?

I mean, my child's sick, and I haven't paid the electricity bill, so my family is freezing. But if I deny this woman's stamp, what will happen to her? I mean, where do denied refuges go when their home country is currently in a state of civil war?

I remember when the only class involving computers at my school was Keyboarding 101. Hopefully there's a moving trend toward introducing students to programming classes earlier in the curriculum than college. And ideally without using lower level languages like C / C++.

Seems like a pretty light-weight, and fun way to pass the time!
