What a cute little guy, a few years back a friend had a pet hedgehog and I was surprised to know that you don't need any gloves to handle the little guys.
Hah, I didn't know that. My small home town are flooded with these cute little buggers, but I've never actually tried holding one. I'm sure it would be pretty scared if I tried to grab it.
They get a little scared, but its not hard to actually pick one up and hold it. Because of their defence mechanism they tend to roll up into a ball and just sit there waiting for the danger to pass, the flaw is, they are extremely easy to pick up and play with when they do that ;)

Flying squirrels also roll into a ball for protection.
