So I used Ubuntu for about a day or so a couple of months ago, I had to stop using it because I didn't have any time to focus on learning a new OS.

But I have a 500GB HDD connected to my computer and there's nothing in it, and I don't see myself using it for anything in the near future so I thought why not install a distro on it and mess around, but is that the right way to do it? Or should I be installing it on the same drive I have windows on to make it a proper dual boat? I have windows 7 on a separate partition on an SSD.

Edit: Well I installed it and used the driver manager to get the nvidia driver, restarted and then I ran nvidia-xconfig. Not sure if that was necessary but the guide I was reading (few months old) said it was a must. I then used nvidia settings thing to correct my dual monitor setup and all that, and then I (think I fucked up) updated all the packages through the package manager, took a few seconds. Restarted the computer and now it just crashes constantly, says Mint is in fallback mode. Gonna try and fix it later... I think it was just the wrong driver. Purged it and installed nvidia 352 with ppa:mamarley/nvidia, working so far.

So I've pretty much switched over to Snapzu from Reddit completely, but there are a few things I'd like to know a bit more about.

Above the submission button there is what I would call a tribe toolbar, I don't know what it's called. But I'd love to be able to customize it with my own tribes, or just certain tribes I go to frequently. Is there a way to customize it? And if not, is there no way to quickly get to certain tribes I frequent? Like the shortcut bar from RES.

I also don't understand pins. From what I understand it's a save function but it's organized by categories, or folders or something. Which is fine, that sounds a lot better than what was on Reddit, but there's a limit, at the moment it says 20. Do these replenish each day? Each week? By how much I vote or comment on posts? Will I get more than 20 the higher level I am?

My apologizes if this info is on the FAQ thing but I didn't quite understand what all it said about pins, and I don't think it said anything about this tribe toolbar(?).

Anyway, yeah. Thanks for the invite, here's to hoping this grows on me.
