I've been using last pass over the past year and it's done an amazing job. Every site I visit has a strong, unique, 12-character password. None of the passwords are shared between sites. I just need one very strong password for the last pass site itself, and everything else is filled in on the fly.
If that's a little much for you, you might want to check out correcthorsebatterystaple.net. It generates a mnemonically easy to remember password that is pretty hard for computers to crack. If the URL looks familiar, you might be an xkcd fan
number 25 "trustno1" was my favourite password 15 years ago. Thought i was being clever as it was Fox Mulders password...

Yeah, I can almost guarantee that 90% of these passwords are used by pre-teens and the elderly. No one in their right mind would think that using 123456 as your facebook password is safe, especially when even if they spent a few days online would read an article or be warned by someone not to use shitty passwords.
