Sometimes you have to drive home the point that claiming to be offended isn't a trump card that allows you to silence any speech you don't want to hear. That's one reason why groups like Code Pink will feature topless women protesting, to demonstrate that being offended by the manner of protest doesn't invalidate the topic being protested. As long as violence is not part of the protest, focusing on tone arguments is not a valid rebuttal.

That's a fair point and it makes sense. I suppose I'm sympathizing with the Muslim community. There is a lot of "Islamaphobia" in the US and in a more conservative state like Arizona, I shouldn't be surprised to see this type of behavior.

I agree, Islamophobia is alive and well in the US, particularly in more conservative regions. What disturbs me the most is how hypocritical Islamophobia can get; Oklahoma eagerly banned Sharia Law but had to be forced by a court order to remove a ten commandments monument from public land. Because it's okay if they do it.

Both forms of protest are valid so long as no one takes it as an excuse to commit violence.
