10 years ago+7 7 0Getting Tired
Years ago I worked on a landscaping project with my Grandfather and he taught me this, I thought I'd share it here.
At 15 you can work all day and not get tired.
At 25 when you get tired you can work through it.
At 35 when you get tired you take a break and recover and go back at it.
At 45 when you get tired you take a nap and then go back at it half speed.
At 55 when you get tired you're done for the day.
At 65 you're tired all the time.
At 75 you're glad to be tired because you're still around.
It's been true so far, my Grandfather was a wise man.

10 years ago+4 4 0Welcome!
The 40 and older group of members are in the minority I figured we could use a place to gather and share some stories and advice.
I'm pushing 60 myself but I've tried to live by the idea of being an adult when I have to and be a kid when I can.
Come on in and be a kid!

Getting my feet wet and I wanted to say hi . Hi!
My User ID says it all I'm an Old Tall Guy, I'll probably be one of the oldest members in age in that I'll be turning 60 soon. Yes, I do know how to use a computer for more than email and Facebook. I've been an I.T. tech for more than 30 years, gone from pumping boxes full of cards through a card reader in order to get a program to run, all the way to asking a tech question and getting an answer from the other side of the world in seconds.
Obviously being a bit older I may have a different perspective on things; just a sec; HEY KID GET OFF MY LAWN! Sorry about that, damn kids. Anyway this looks like a nice place and I'd like to settle in for a bit if you don't mind.
One last thing, thank you to the administrator or whoever it was that sent me an invite, I'll pass the favor along to someone I think will fit in.
