    I hope this isnt the kind of content that continues to gain traction here.

    Blackrock is an asset manager. They don't own the assets they manage, nor do they define the mandates under which capital is deployed. Ex: a state pension fund will use Blackrock funds as Lego blocks for a portfolio. Blackrock gets a few basis points of management fees (since this is the race they won - the race to the bottom). Its one of the the most boring industries in the world of finance.

    Aladdin is portfolio management software. That section is akin to raging against Excel or a Bloomberg Terminal, what an utterly misinformed video.
