"My robot bought illegal drugs" is like saying "my car run over someone".

you control the application just as readily as you control the steering wheel. if you happen to give up that control (close your eyes, take the hands off the steering wheel), then you are responsible for what happens next. I simply can't see how this is in any way different, "artist" or no artist. He allowed the illegal purchase to take place. Tact approval is still approval.

But what happens if say your robot has access to health data from the creator. It has then analysed that you have some form of illness that has scientifically been proven treatable by X drug, but said drug isn't accessible to the public due to some red tape. If the creator was not around it would not be able to live, it will obey the orders given to procure the drugs to stop harm from coming to a human and in return protect its own existence. All 3 laws abided by.

What is "illegal" but a rule dictated by someone who suggests that the subject matter is wrong. Sometimes, illegal is not always wrong, but a limitation imposed to regulate for profit.
