The war on big food.
Major packaged-food companies lost $4 billion in market share alone last year, as shoppers swerved to fresh and organic alternatives. Many people are even just shopping around the outer edges of the store now and ignoring the processed "food" inner isles and big food is feeling the pinch.

Personally, I like that people are trying new, smaller brands as well as local foods. This means that no one company has the food industry in a vice grip.
I do find it shocking though that the recent study that came out last month that stated more than two-thirds of U.S. adults are overweight or obese. Shouldn't this trend be moving the other way with all of this change towards fresh and organic alternatives?
