I am still deciding on whether to get a hammock or a tent for a large purchase next week. I really, really like hammocks, but what if I am in a place without trees... then what?
A very valid consideration! I'm up in the Pacific NW, so I've been lucky on that front for the most part :) That said, there have been a couple of times I've had one end of the hammock strung to a tree and the other side strung to the roof rack on top of my car!
Lucky you! I am in MO, so there is always a chance if I were to go to the Flint Hills that there would be no trees around. I might just have to plan ahead and make sure I have trees around until I splurge on a tent.
