I wish I was, but I'm not the pioneering type. I either had to know that the colony was safely up and running or that it was a round trip.
That's a good reason but for sure equally important is what holds you back, your social life. I have no strong connections in my life so going would be easier for me I guess.
So the answer is yes, i would go, even when your second point would be a problem for me as well. ;)
I almost forgot: The fact that they plan to make it a reality show doesn't appeal to me either :/
Aside from being an incredibly inspiring project, do you believe that Mars One is doable? From what little I've read about it, it seems there are so many issues that needs to be resolved before sending humans to live on Mars, that aiming for 2026 isn't really realistic.

I am not gonna pretend to be able to guess if it realistic. I hope we will be able to visit mars in my lifetime.
