As the article explains it, the outrage is that the meaning of the word migrant has changed to communicate a thing that is sub-human. So, they're arguing that we should use the terms people, families, and refugees instead.

However, as someone that grew up in Miami, the term refugee can also become derogatory. Just ask the Cubans that were called "refs" throughout the 80s and 90s.

As someone that has been inside academia for a little, this is not surprising at all. There are more politicians in academia than scientists.

Awareness of my own death. Most late adolescent and young adults have this general feeling that they will either live for forever or that their personal death is way to far in the future to contemplate seriously. I was in war at 20 y/o and had to seriously come to terms with my own death much earlier than most. Now I have a generally lack fear of death. I don't want to die (no suicidal thoughts at all), but I wouldn't mind it much.

I work in healthcare providing social and mental health services. I worked from home today to help out a patient. I'm on sick leave...because I had surgery earlier today.

This is something I think frequently about and have yet come to any meaningful answer. The best I have done is to accept that we're just here and distract myself from the topic.

Additionally, what the fuck is even doing the actual experiencing of life? Like when I say, "I'm glad I was born as I was and not a person in a terrible situation or a moth," what or whom is the 'I' I'm referring to?

I know it's very difficult, but you should increase your value to employers. I hated when I felt trapped in a personality that wasn't me to keep my job or get hired.
