I'm dubious. How would this work when the majority of speakers on the market only play sounds that can be heard by humans? And also, for this to work, there would have to be some software working on your phone or other device to catch the sound being played:

The inaudible code is recognized and received on the other smart device by the software development kit installed on it.

I think there's a long road to this actually becoming a threat to our privacy.
