Beware of ads that use inaudible sound to link your phone, TV, tablet, and PC
Privacy advocates are warning federal authorities of a new threat that uses inaudible, high-frequency sounds to surreptitiously track a person's online behavior across a range of devices, including phones, TVs, tablets, and computers. The ultrasonic pitches are embedded into TV commercials or are played when a user encounters an ad displayed in a computer browser.

There is no end to the invasion of privacy.
This is true...And they seem to think this is perfectly acceptable to do. Then they throw tantrums cause we use ad blockers to stop their relentless annoying behavior. Those with tv's w ill just have to mute every ad..When i had a tv,I did it anyway as I could not be bothered with their relentless pandering and manipulation.
At least this huge security hole is easy to mess with. It should be possible to send them enough erroneous data to make it useless. You just need your own ultrasonic beacon.
I'm dubious. How would this work when the majority of speakers on the market only play sounds that can be heard by humans? And also, for this to work, there would have to be some software working on your phone or other device to catch the sound being played:
I think there's a long road to this actually becoming a threat to our privacy.
