    As someone who has run into a lot of injuries early in their career, I wish I had read this earlier. This is a valuable guide for any beginner or trained athlete.

    In the past I have strictly followed the 10% rule - even increasing on weeks where I've felt burnt out. Baseline mileage was a concept that I never fully understood, so it's nice to know when I should increase my mileage conservatively or aggressively.
