Have you ever wondered how your computer sees the world? Spoiler alert: it's the stuff of psychedelic nightmares, as the internet found out last month when Google revealed that in order to sort and categorize images online, it uses an artificial intelligence program that looks for patterns and sometimes gets things wrong, finding random dog faces, swirls, and hands where there are none.

Agreed. Very cool! I tried heading to some of the sites that employ the logic to manipulate an uploaded photo, but they're down for the moment. I think someone uploaded an Alex Grey piece of art and some servers melted.
Hahaha! I wonder if you could even tell if an Alex Grey had been altered by this technology. :)
It's a shame the sites are down, probably too many people trying it out. I hope they come back online soon.

I'm not sure what it is that he used, but I found this after some searching. It seems to be down at the moment though, which is understandable considering how many of us want to render our own little horrifying nightmares.

I wonder what happens if you do this over and over again.
I seem to be moving the wrong direction on the waiting list, but I'm looking forward to seeing the result. It probably isn't going to help matters that my photo is a little creepy in its own right.
