    If Maurice Ward would have started a company that allowed for the use of a material he accidentally created back in 1986 called Starlite, we would not have a problem with heat shielding anything. Countless lives would have been saved during space travel and other hazardous and demanding activities if only this material was available.

    You can read a bit more about it here & here, as well as one that lists the top 10 uses for the material. I am also embedding a video of the starlite coating in action, its of low quality and from the 90's, some of the only available footage of the material. Sadly the inventor of starlite died in 2011, and it looks like we wont be getting access to this wonderful advancement in technology.
