Having dealt with major depression for most of my life, and having dealt with the festival of meds (including Prozac, Paxil, Zoloft, Celexa, Fetzima, Pristiq, Lamictal, Wellbutrin, Abilify and Rexulti), I can tell you that the meds don’t work, and the people who make them don’t care, as long as they’re prescribed. If we knew the brain chemistry that leads to depression, we should be doing better than using expensive sugar pills to treat it.

Expensive sugar pills with a concerning risk of producing psychotic and suicidal episodes. Still, there are people in my life that couldn't be without their meds, so I suppose it's a risk to weigh.
