How can they sleep at night? Idiots.
You are far too kind... "Idiot" is a relatively underwhelming term of these people as they aren't just stupid and thats that. Stupid people in a position of power are the ultimate failure of our society, and letting them put a pillow over their heads and scream "na na naa naa na" is the worst thing we can do as a collective intelligence.
