    It has become that, without acknowledging it. Newspapers used to have a separate opinion page, but when they started dying, they moved it to the front page to get eyeballs, essentially making themselves worthless to half their potential customer base.

    Cable news did the same thing as the market fractured.

    Instead of "here's the news", and maybe a little bit of analysis, it's "here's the news, and this is how you should feel about it." It's all become agenda driven pout-rage from the side that's out of power and mindless defense of the side that's in.

    Walter Cronkite's ghost would slap the fake smile off of any modern news anchors face who dared to call themselves a journalist.
