My father-in-law had chronic back pain about 13 years ago... nothing seemed to help (ct scans, doctor visits, etc). He told me this story on a number of occasions so I know he's really happy about the results. Anyway, something went in his back one day and for about 8 months he was practically bed ridden. He got a referral to visit this one chiropractor that many swore by and within just 2 sessions he was able to correct whatever was wrong with his spine. Within a matter of days he was able to get back on his feet and he hasn't had a problem since. It's always interesting to hear from both camps I guess.

Could it've been an osteopatth rather than a chiropractor? Not that it's impossible to believe. There are huge numbers of chiropractors and people swear by them.

He was very clear it was a chiropractor, he's actually worried that if it happens again he may not get the help since the guy he was taking about has been a long time retired. I think the problem is (as with many other health related "industries") that there is a lot of practicing chiropractors that have no idea what they are doing, and only really get into the business because the pay is good and the work is somewhat credible. They are able to get away with just about everything.
