Though he continues to receive far less attention in the national media than Hillary Clinton or Donald Trump, Sanders is posing a powerful challenge not only to the Democratic establishment aligned with Hillary Clinton, but also the school of thought that assumes that the Democrats need an establishment candidate like Clinton to run a viable campaign for president. Playing the long odds: my wife buys lottery tickets. I bet on Bernie.
For me it's not about challenging the establishment or rebellion or anything like that. Bernie simply represents my views and interests the best of any candidates. Not perfectly, but still the best. Close behind Bernie is Hillary.
I don't expect Bernie to get the nomination because of silly notions like "America isn't ready for a socialist president!" or "Bernie is an independent and can't win." Nevertheless, stranger things have happened so I will continue to show my support without burning my bridges for alternative candidates like Hillary.
