I feel like I need to defend the show, but I don't really have that much of a defense.

For one, I haven't watched it since the second or third season, so I don't know how much it has changed since then.

    Here's my main defense...

This article presents the show as saying that "what we are portraying is fact, even though scientists and historians disagree with us."

However, when I watched it was presented more like "here's this really cool artifact that might be incredibly advanced for how old it is. How did they do it? What if it was aliens that helped the primitive humans?"

I always enjoyed watching Ancient Aliens as a combination of two shows. 1. A documentary about cool, possibly advanced artifacts. 2. A sci fi show asking 'what if?'

It seems like the author of this article watched it with the intention of getting angry. If you watch something with the intention of being angry, you'll probably get mad. This author is also a part of what's wrong with America. Quit whining about a TV show and just stop watching TV if it makes you so angry! /rant

      It's not that it's fringe, it's that it's woo.

it's not being presented as fact, so there's nothing to debunk. The facts they do present, such as the time frame, location, discovery, etc are generally accurate. The 'what ifs' are just silly nonsense aimed at a niche audience.

          That's just not so.

well I don't have time to watch a 3 hour video right now. Perhaps this weekend. However, as I said in my original comment, I have only watched the first two or three seasons of Ancient Aliens. This was several years ago. If their format changed to saying "XYZ was only possible if aliens helped" I would be quite surprised. I'm guessing it's still presented like "XYZ was a great accomplishment for humans of the time. Is it possible that aliens helped?" Again, If there really are 12 seasons now and I've only seen 1/6 to 1/4, perhaps it has completely changed course.

Also, I'm a big fan of the term Giorgio's Razor that was described in the article.

            I almost saw a UFO once....that's a fact, but I can't prove it.
