I'd love people to replace boring lawn grass with clover,as would the bees. And the goldenrod pictured above is very pretty. Too bad people call it a weed,but it looks great with blue flowers.
I think it's becoming more and more clear that one of the worst things you can do for the environment is to have a manicured grass lawn.
1. it uses most of your household's water
2. it has shallow roots
3. it doesn't attract bees or butterflies or other beneficial insects
4. it's only redeeming qualities are looks and how it feels on your bare feet (how often do most people walk around barefoot outside nowadays anyway...)
I've always loved clover, only problem is they look crazy when long and when you cut them you ruin the look. In the wild they look amazing though.
