I would say get involved in clubs and organizations that interest you. Not only do you get to meet like-minded people, but nothing looks better to employers than a full resume. I was a shut in for my freshman year before I started getting involved, and all it did was make me regret not doing it sooner.

It appalls me that some people think their personal opinion trumps the (ironically) "God-given" rights to Life, Liberty, and Property. One thing that I feel makes America a great country is the separation of church and state. But it seems like, especially recently, people have taken it as more "keeping government out of religion but keep religion in government." I can guarantee you that if a devout Muslim government worker were to be seen praying to Mecca while on the job, many Americans would be up in arms about Separation and the loss of "christian morals" from a secular government.

Israel attacks another country in self-defense, the other Middle Eastern countries rush to defend whomever Israel is attacking, the US steps in to defend Israel, the US calls in favors from other European countries. I feel it's pretty inevitable.

There already kind of was, if you look at the War on Terror from the perspective of America trying to get a foothold in some of the last oil-rich countries in the Middle East.
