IMO, reddit has made too many new hires. They're trying to diversify, but ultimately these employees are probably too expensive for an unprofitable company.
Instead, they should be focusing on their core product (i.e. the site itself) and better utilizing the talent they have. I've interacted with quite a few of reddit's devs, they're a sharp group of people.
