Don't panic, but birth control may be increasing your risk for breast cancer
Birth control may be increasing women’s chance of developing breast cancer by as much as 38 percent. The link with cancer risk exists for not only older generations of hormonal contraceptives but also the products that many women use today, according to a paper published Wednesday in The New England Journal of Medicine. The study used an average of 10 years of data from more than 1.8 million Danish women.

I was about to type this out when I'd only read half the article, since this isn't the first piece of research to show this -- but this is something that I was taught as a classic example of weighing the odds. One the one hand, you don't want to be pregnant, and you have a decreased chance of some cancers (ovarian iirc?), but on the other hand there's other cancers that you're more likely to get, along with mood swings, amongst other issues. So it's a risk you need to be willing to face, I guess.
